Simon Parsons

My name is Simon Parsons and I am a Chartered Legal Executive and a Solicitor (both non-practicing). I practiced as a legal executive for thirteen years and in my last position I specialised in criminal law and practice. Upon qualifying as a solicitor, I entered teaching at Solent University in Southampton where I spent twenty- three years specialising in teaching and researching criminal law, criminal justice process, human rights and evidence. My research has given me the opportunity to examine the way in which the criminal law battles with the difficulties of defining criminal responsibility. I was delighted that my track record of research impact was recognised by Solent University with the conferral of the title of Associate Professor in 2013. Since 2021 I have been an associate lecturer at Bath Spa University.
