Client review site claims it has 'huge benefits for small practices'

The online review site for solicitors, VouchedFor, claims to have assisted people obtain financial advice worth over £125m in the last year. The site, still in its Beta phase of development, believes that the success it has experienced in the independent financial adviser industry can be replicated in the legal profession.

"Signing up for Vouchedfor.co.uk is free and offers huge benefits for small practice solicitors everywhere," said Adam Price, founder of VouchedFor.

"When looking for advice consumers often do not know who to trust. We're glad that VouchedFor can now help bridge that trust gap for solicitors. We receive hundreds of thousands of visitors to our site which is promoted through Google, word-of-mouth and relationships with organisations like The Independent, The Daily Mail Group and The Times."

According to recent research carried out by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, 49 per cent of the general public would be 'very likely' to ask others' opinions about a particular solicitor before employing them, while a further 32 per cent said they were 'fairly likely' to do so. Potential customers are therefore reassured by being able to access those opinions quickly and clearly.

Solicitors are now able to register for the Beta website. During the Beta period, the website will be rapidly enhanced based on feedback provided by its users. Over 150 Solicitors have registered with the service and VouchedFor expect that number to rise significantly throughout the rest of this week.

Price told SJ: "We are really excited that the solicitor service has now launched and the initial response so far has been very positive. In fact, we're hoping in the next week or so to have signed up over 1,000 solicitors. VouchedFor has proven to be an invaluable tool in helping consumers find trustworthy financial advice and we're keen to do the same for legal advice next."

A full public launch of VouchedFor's solicitor service is expected in the autumn.
