A teaching law firm in Nottingham has been recognised for its ‘outstanding’ community work, providing free legal advice across Nottinghamshire.

Nottingham Law School’s legal advice centre, which is part of Nottingham Trent University, was given the 2020 award for its contribution to the community by Nottinghamshire Law Society.

In the past academic year, it dealt with 248 cases; recovered £4m in benefits and compensation for its clients; and 350 students undertook legal work experience at the centre.

Judges praised the centre for the “high standards of skill, professionalism and dedication” shown.
